SINO IRON PROJECT - Cape Preston - Citic Pacific Mining

Employed as the clients direct surveyors on site we are currently servicing the needs of the client on this $7 Billion project.

 Magnetite Iron Ore will be mined at the pit and processed then transferred via a pipeline to the Cape Port Facilities which is in the initial stages of development.

The project is due to ship ore by 2011. The location of the project presents many challenges to our surveyors in this early stage of construction as access to some areas of the project is quite difficult and transport used so far includes - 4WD, Mule, Helicopter, Amphibious Vehicle and buses.

 

Duties being carried out Include:

  • Auditing Surveys for Construction
  • Control Verification and Installation
  • Topographic Surveys
  • DTM Verification
  • Setout of Bulk Earthworks, Road Formations, Construction Areas
  • Volume Surveys and Calculations
  • Survey Management
  • Drafting of Final As Constructed plans

 

The Sino Project is due for construction completion by 2011
